Kelowna RCMP inform the public of a sexual assault where a woman was sexually assaulted by an unknown male suspect

On Monday, June 13, 2022 between 12:20 p.m. and 1:20 p.m., a woman was walking along Springfield Road and Hollywood Road South in Kelowna when she was followed and assaulted by a man she did not know. While police were present, Frontline officers spoke to the woman, who reported that she had been forced to walk to Mission Creek along Hollywood Road South and had been sexually assaulted. The female victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a South Asian male in his twenties with dark hair, a well-groomed beard, a partially shaved right eyebrow and wearing a black puffy jacket with a zipper, a white t-shirt and trousers tracksuit in green silk.

Cpl. Tim Russell of the Kelowna Vulnerable Persons Section says, “Kelowna RCMP Sex Crimes Unit investigators are actively scouring the area for video surveillance in an effort to identify and locate the suspect.
