KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety is looking to add a few more public safety officers to its ranks.
The department began accepting applications on Monday August 15 and will continue to accept applications until Sunday August 28.
Hiring managers say the job will include responding to calls for duty involving police, fire and medical emergencies. They also say that interested applicants do not need to have prior police or fire clearances to be considered.
The hiring process will include an application, written test, physical agility test, and background investigation. It will also include several interviews throughout the process. Once all the steps have been successfully completed, it is expected that a job offer will be given in December 2022.
To be eligible for the Public Safety Officer position, applicants must be citizens of the United States, have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, possess a valid driver’s license, and be 21 years of age at the time of application. appointment in January 2023.
