The Mississippi Department of Finance and Administration has awarded AnderCorp a $33.7 million contract and signed a notice to proceed with construction of Phase I of the new Department of Public Safety (DPS) headquarters. This new facility will centralize DPS operations in Rankin County, Mississippi.
“We are delighted to have been awarded the contract to build the new DPS facility which will consolidate and house the DPS divisions in a new regional location,” said Roy Anderson, III, President and CEO of AnderCorp. “We look forward to bringing this important project to fruition and being a trusted partner to DPS and the State of Mississippi.”
“The Legislature providing this funding demonstrates its strong commitment and support for the public safety of all Mississippians. The DPS will benefit significantly from having centrally located divisions that will provide operational proficiency to our state’s safety,” said the Commissioner of the Civil Service Department. Security, Sean Tindell. “We are thrilled to begin construction and happy to have a well-respected general contractor leading the construction of this historic business.”
The new headquarters for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety will consolidate, localize, and increase the interactivity and efficiency of DPS functions. Following advice from the DPS Administration, the design team at Barlow Eddy Jenkins / Eley Guild Hardy Architects has developed a building design that will locate the various divisions in one location with physical adjacencies that support effective collaboration and team-based maximizing state resources.

Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol
Mississippi Bureau of Investigation
Mississippi Narcotics Bureau
Mississippi Homeland Security Bureau
Commercial Transportation Law Enforcement Division
Public Safety Planning
Support Services Divisions
Driver Service Desk
AnderCorp’s Jackson, Mississippi office in Fondren will manage the construction project. The general contractor recently completed several projects in central Mississippi, including the relocation of Castle Headquarters to downtown Meridian, Mississippi, Highball Lanes/Capri Theater in Fondren, and Fertile Ground in Belhaven.
